Subject: invitation to an exceptional event, 20 March
Dear friends, neighbours and colleagues,
I’m writing to invite you to an event that I think will be exceptionally interesting. It is only a week away! ….. I’m sorry I couldn’t give you more advance notice.
It is an evening with ‘Stoneleigh’, aka Nicole Foss, an international energy and finance expert, formerly a Research Fellow at the Oxford Institute for Energy Studies and director of an agri-energy association in Canada. Her talk at last year’s international Transition gathering was described by Shaun Chamberlin (author of Transition Timeline) like this: “As she spoke, the room was hushed and fiercely attentive, and you could see people absorbing the implications of what she said ….”
I’ve heard her talk and I’m convinced that her grasp of world energy resources and financial markets is something out of the ordinary. She has some thought-provoking ideas on how we can best help ourselves as the oil era comes to its close.
Here are the details:
Nicole M Foss
speaking on how to
Build A Lifeboat
to Survive the Financial/Energy Crisis
Followed by a discussion
Sunday March 20, 7pm, The Bull Hotel,
34 East Street, Bridport, DT6 3LF
£6 entrance (free for students)
More details: 01308 458 116
Thanks to the Bull Hotel for hosting this event for free.
A flier is attached – please pass the invitation on to your friends and networks. See you there?
With my best wishes,
Sally Cooke (01305 267758)
PS I’m happy to help with car-sharing arrangements, or you could go to www.rideshare.co.uk
(I’m offering a lift on rideshare but it looks like a trip from Dorchester to Lyme Regis, for some reason it doesn’t recognise Bridport as a place!)
