An examination of social trends in the British population. This is a sociological study of trends in childbirth, student behaviour, transition to adulthood, working patterns and retirement. It looks at known patterns of change then projects them forward for the coming decades. Thus the increasing retirement age with an older population and also the demographic patterns of having fewer young workers supporting more elderly people is projected. The patterns work well for some but not for others such as NEETs, Not in education, employment or training. This book does not encompass climate change or peak oil. The trends are worked out on the current economic model persisting.
